Though we had not planned it, we decided to stop at Hope Arkansas, Bill Clinton's boyhood home, and view where he began. We stopped at the visitor's center, a reclaimed railway station, and got the map. Talked at some length with the lady in the center who grew up and lived her whole life in Hope. We shared small town living experiences and she also lamented about the decline of the town due to manufacturing plants closing and Wal Mart closing the small local businesses.
The house above was the original home and really was quite nice for a small rural town of the time. It now faces a very busy four lane road.
This house was where he moved after he was born. The area now is in decline and this house is in the best condition of any in the neighborhood.
